This seminar is designed for people working in nonprofit organizations, as well as people considering making a career change to the sector. Its goals are to enable participants to become more effective leaders of nonprofit organizations, to provide a forum in which they can share ideas and gain practical suggestions for strengthening their organizations, and to create an environment in which they can get to know leaders of other nonprofit organizations. Meeting topics include: leadership and ethical gatekeeping; developing board members and volunteers; strategic planning as a key to success; increasing the impact of marketing. The primary learning components are interactive discussions related to specific issues and problems faced by a participant’s organization, presentations and practical guidance by experienced faculty practitioners, and readings.
