Former Fiscal Sponsorship Director Bonnie McFarlane Takes New Position
Bonnie McFarlane resigned her position as fiscal sponsorship director in December to become deputy director of the Massachusetts Children’s Trust Fund. The fund leads statewide efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect by supporting parents and strengthening families. As an umbrella organization, CTF funds, evaluates and promotes the work of over 100 agencies that serve parents. It is supported by private, state and federal funding.
“This new position is a great opportunity for Bonnie,” said TSNE Executive Director Jonathan Spack, “but we’ll miss her. She has brought so much to TSNE and the Fiscal Sponsorship Program during her five years here, and we appreciate all that she has done.”
Until a replacement is hired, Executive Director Spack will provide interim leadership for TSNE’s fiscal sponsorship services.
In Service to Community
Bonnie McFarlane was hired as Third Sector New England’s first director of Fiscal Sponsorship in July of 2002. She was responsible for the financial services, human resource operations and capacity building for TSNE’s fiscally-sponsored projects, with over 100 staff members and combined budgets in excess of $12 million.
Prior to joining TSNE, Bonnie served as the executive director of Positive Directions for eight years, a nonprofit providing support and advocacy to over 300 HIV positive people each year – and information and education to over 3,000 infected or at-risk people annually. She had also served as the executive director of The Support Committee for Battered Women, CFO of Rosie’s Place and as an executive recruiter for Ford Webb Associates, among other positions.
Bonnie received her master’s degree in public policy from Duke University and her B.A. from Cornell University.
