The Board of Directors at Alternatives for Community and Environment (ACE) has welcomed Dwaign Tyndal as the next Executive Director, effective October 2, 2017. Located in Roxbury, Massachusetts, ACE is a membership organization building the power of communities of color and low-income backgrounds to eradicate environmental racism and classism, create healthy, sustainable communities, and achieve environmental justice. Following a national search, the Board of Directors of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Kathryn Tarter German as CDSS’ new Executive Director, effective September 5, 2017. CDSS is an education and arts service nonprofit for dancers, musicians, singers, callers, and organizers, specializing in dances, music, and songs from English and North American traditions. On May 1, 2017, Dr. Judy Ann Bigby assumed the role of Executive Director of South Africa Partners. With the goal of unlocking South Africa’s fullest potential, South Africa Partners builds mutually beneficial partnerships between the United States and South Africa, with a specific focus on health and education. The Theater Offensive
Harold Steward, former Manager of the South Dallas Cultural Center and Founder of the Fahari Arts Institute, has been recently announced as the Managing Director for The Theater Offensive, effective June 1, 2017. For over 25 years, The Theater Offensive has presented the diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender lives in art through groundbreaking workshops led by members of the LGBTQ community. Connecticut Pre-Engineering Program
Following a national search, the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Pre-Engineering Program (CPEP) announced Dr. David Beam as CPEP’s new Executive Director, effective November 15, 2016. CPEP seeks to ensure underrepresented youth in Connecticut are encouraged to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through greater exposure to content and learning opportunities.
