Aba Taylor, Professional Learning Manager
Aba Taylor has been involved in social justice work for nearly 20 years supporting immigrants, people affected by HIV/AIDS, LGBTQI advocacy, women’s rights, and racial and economic justice movements. She has promoted anti-violence and anti-bias strategies and education, facilitated numerous cultural competency and civil rights trainings, used media and cultural work to shift public perceptions, and created and managed programs to create greater opportunities for some of society’s most disenfranchised people. In addition to her career as a nonprofit professional, she is an avid supporter and participant of engaging arts, culture and creative expression as a means for social change.
Prior to joining TSNE MissionWorks, Taylor’s roles included serving as the executive director of the Winchester Multicultural Network, being the deputy director for the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, supporting the capacity of social justice organizations at the Movement Strategy Center. She is a board member of several social justice organizations and recently served as acting chair of the Massachusetts Association for Human Rights Commissions. Her work has taken her around the world for organizations such as the United Nations, African Services Committee, Lambda Legal, Liberty Hill Foundation, and ACT-UP. Taylor received her Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in New York City, a Master’s degree in Intercultural Service and Nonprofit Management from the School of International Training and is a Rockwood Leadership Institute Alumni.
