HOUSE BILL STRIPS NONPROFITS OF FREEDOMS
On October 26, 2005, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1461, the Federal Housing Finance Reform Act. Provisions within the bill would restrict some nonprofits' ability to provide affordable housing while stripping all nonprofits of fundamental American freedoms.
TSNE signed onto a letter to Senate leaders pressing them to reject this type of "gag order." Executive Director Jonathan Spack provides the details.
