Capacity Building Networks

Networks of organizations build capacity together through the Capacity Building Fund.TSNE’s Capacity Building Fund (CBF) was established to help non-profit organizations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island create and nurture space for collective learning.

The learning not only bolsters the capacity of nonprofits to do what they do better, but it also advances knowledge in their fields, as learning partners experiment with new and improved ways of delivering and integrating programs and services.

Lessons from CBF

Since 2004, CBF has funded 25 learning networks. Learn more about these projects and the lessons shared.

Meet Meg Kerr, who has brought together several organizations to learn collaboratively. This new case study examines the role of a weaver in creating results on community issues.

Planning Grantees Announced

Projects will help the individual organizations and the network as a whole more effectively achieve a shared goal – collaborating to face a community challenge – while together learning new program management and administrative strategies.

Grantmaking Hiatus

With deep regret, TSNE is suspending grantmaking for the Capacity Building Fund, one of the organization’s two grant programs. Support will continue to be provided to current and active grantees.

Grantmaking for the Inclusion Initiative is on hiatus. However, TSNE plans to work with long-term partners to continue to gain resource for this critical re-granting program and hopes to announce a new round of grantmaking in 2012.
