Grassroots InitiativeThird Sector New England’s Consulting Program is pleased to announce the organizations selected for the 2010 Grassroots Initiative, a capacity building initiative which includes an organizational assessment, trainings, peer learning sessions and direct technical assistance from a consultant. Reflect and StrengthenReflect and Strengthen is a grassroots collective of young working class women from several neighborhoods in Boston who take a holistic approach to organizing in order to create personal and social transformation. Their programming focuses are political education, healing from trauma, creative expression, community building and campaign work to end racial disparities in the juvenile justice system. The Brazilian Women's GroupThe Brazilian Women's Group promotes political and cultural awareness through community organizing which empowers the community to speak for themselves regardless of immigration status. Rhode Island for Community and JusticeRhode Island for Community and Justice (RICJ) is a spinoff of the National Conference for Christians and Jews (NCC). Their mission is to fight bias, bigotry and racism and to promote understanding and mutual respect among all races, religions and cultures, through advocacy conflict resolution and education. |
