Organizational Accountability in FundraisingMarch 11, 2010Workshop Presenter: Kristi Scarpone Workshop Cost: $79 Workshop Description: There is nothing more lonely or unproductive than a one-person development team. Oftentimes, development professionals are hired with expectations that they’ll handle all of the individual giving, grant writing and events planning as a solo entity. Or an executive director finds her/himself in a position of splitting time between organizational management and fundraising, never quite having enough time to dedicate to the latter. Effective, results-based campaigns are those which fully engage all key stakeholders of an organization. Clearly defined roles for board, staff and volunteers with accountability and ownership are crucial in both stewardship and donor solicitation. In this interactive workshop, you will develop a comprehensive plan to engage your key stakeholders in all areas of fundraising from cultivation to solicitation. Presenter Bio: Kristi Scarpone, professional fundraiser and nonprofit strategist, is currently overseeing a $16 million capital campaign. She believes that the success of any campaign relies on full engagement from all key stakeholders including staff, board and volunteers. She has raised more than $25 million by keeping donors and prospects highly engaged through unique and exciting programming. Kristi has a master’s degree in education and teaches courses at the University of New Hampshire and New England College’s Masters in Nonprofit Management Program.
