Fiscal Sponsorship Resources

Fiscal sponsorship provides unincorporated groups, projects and coalitions with an alternative to shouldering all of the day-to-day administrative responsibilities alone. Organizations sometimes choose fiscal sponsorship as a time-limited solution to incorporation, but many are remaining fiscally sponsored in order to use resources most efficiently, avoiding the burden of doing IRS filings themselves, benefiting from improved human resources support and better employee benefits, and having strong fiscal management.

Perhaps most important, the partnership developed through 501(c)3 nonprofits like TSNE and fiscally sponsored groups frees the latter to focus staff and volunteer energy exclusively on building programs and serving constituents.

TSNE Services

Through fiscal sponsorship, Third Sector New England offers a home for unincorporated groups, projects and grassroots coalitions that are building stronger communities and providing leadership in the non-profit field. We have served as a fiscal sponsor since 1959 and have managed hundreds of federal contracts and grants over the past half century. We currently serve as a fiscal sponsor to projects based in New England and New York that have a local, regional and/or national focus.
