Information Systems Help Desk Associate (part-time)

Job Summary

The information systems help desk associate serves as the first level of information systems support for Third Sector New England staff and programs, including NonProfit Center tenants and conference room users as well as our fiscally-sponsored program staff and others.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide helpdesk support, consulting with users to identify and resolve problems with PC hardware, software and network
  • Support and coach users on standard office production software including Microsoft Office, desktop publishing and other applications
  • Coach staff in use of organizational databases, triage technical and developmental issues to the information systems manager
  • Provide technical support to NonProfit Center conference room users and shared space tenants
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware, software and software updates on workstations
  • Manage shared portable equipment, such as laptops, digital cameras and projectors
  • Monitor and evaluate current and future office technologies and make recommendations to the information systems manager
  • Administer and maintain print services
  • Document technological systems, as required; manage software licensing
  • Complete other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience supporting local and remote users with PCs, networks, information systems and applications required; experience supporting users in small to mid-size nonprofits preferred
  • Proficiency in applications: XP, MS Office including MS Access, and various desktop applications required
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others and strong commitment to end-user support required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities and to pay close and accurate attention to detail
  • Ability to be both strategic and creative as well as to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for TSNE mission and to the work of social and economic justice organizations is preferred

Special Requirements

A willingness to work flexible hours (i.e., early morning hours may be required)
