Workshop Presenter: Chuck Doran, executive director and a mediator with Mediation Works Incorporated
Workshop Description: Learning to manage conflict proactively is a key to building a cohesive organization that is flexible, responsive and resilient. Join Chuck Doran of Mediation Works Incorporated for an interactive presentation that will take a close look at conflict: What it is; what it's not; and how to turn conflict into an opportunity for growth, learning and change.
This program is designed to help nonprofit professionals gain a working knowledge of conflict management methods, strategies for managing conflict effectively, and tips for selecting and working with a mediator.
Presenter Bio: Charles ("Chuck") Doran is an experienced mediator, trainer and the founder of Mediation Works Incorporated, a dispute resolution service and training firm in Boston, Mass. A mediator since 1992, Chuck works with business owners, employees, housing agencies, tenants and landlords to build their capacity to negotiate effectively and resolve difficult disputes. In addition to his mediation work, Chuck works nationally and internationally as a dispute resolution trainer and consultant with corporate, governmental and nonprofit clients. Chuck served as a member of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution, chair of the Qualifications Subcommittee and as a past president of the Association for Conflict Resolution, New England Chapter.

NOTE: Participation at no cost in the Bottom Line Training Series is reserved for staff members, volunteers and board members of 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or projects that are fiscally sponsored by 501(c)3 organizations. If you do not meet the above criteria but are interested in attending, contact trainings@tsne.org. If there is space available, those not associated with a nonprofit organization may attend for a $79 fee.
Participants needing sign language translation or other assistance must request services a minimum of three (3) weeks in advance. Services will be provided if available.
