Valuing our Region’s NonprofitsIt takes competent, committed staff to help nonprofits serve constituents well in spite of current budget challenges. But with those funding challenges, how do we ensure that we are fairly compensating our top-notch staff and can compete for new staff?
And that’s why Third Sector New England, with the support of a number of funding and non-profit partners, is sponsoring the 2010 Massachusetts Regional Nonprofit Compensation Survey for nonprofits across Massachusetts and contiguous communities. TSNE is ensuring that small to mid-sized organizations are included in the study. Other partners are focusing on mid-sized and larger organizations. Historically, information on non-profit compensation practices and benchmarks has typically been available for jobs in the corporate sector or those in very large non-profit institutions. It hasn’t been relevant for most mission-driven nonprofits. This study will compile a body of relevant up-to-date information for the rest of us – as the direct result of the participation of a substantial cross-section of non-profit professionals like you. Our goal is simple – to collect and report on the pay that small-to-medium-to-larger nonprofits across the Massachusetts and our region are paying their employees. And that’s the information, provided to you through the completed survey, that your nonprofit needs to navigate “the new normal” in our sector and communities.
