Third Sector New England’s Better Nonprofit Management Training Series is designed to equip our region’s executive directors, managers, professional staff and board members with the leadership and management skills they need to be agile, strategic and effective in serving their constituents and communities – our communities. But, while professional development is critical to help our sector’s leaders stay at the top of their game, the current economic reality puts even low-cost training opportunities out of the reach of some organizations. That's why we are asking our regional businesses for your leadership in supporting the 2011-2012 non-profit training series. Why Your Support Is VitalBegun in 2008 as a one-year program, Better Nonprofit Management: TSNE's Capacity Building Training Series has become a regional mainstay. Demand for the workshops often exceeds capacity, as we are able to bring nationally and internationally recognized trainers to participants in our Boston Training Center – and more recently via webinar and in trainings throughout the region with our fellow non-profit partners. We draw a diverse, dynamic mix of attendees to Better Nonprofit Management, having served hundreds of participants from more than 250 organizations since 2008. Groups represented ranged from mid-sized arts organizations and large human rights institutions to leading advocacy and policy groups. And while the recession has curtailed some budget items like professional development, our region boasts one of the largest concentrations of nonprofits with reach, resources and influence on today’s non-profit community.
