Organization Description

Resource Generation (RG) organizes young people with wealth to leverage resources and privilege for social change. Through community building, education and organizing, we help young people with wealth bring all they have and all they are to the social change movements and issues they care about. Key programs and resources include a developing network of local chapters, national conferences, delegations, action projects and publications.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the codirectors, the office administrator is responsible for the administrative needs of Resource Generation. This position is integral to the success of our organization and staff team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with excellent benefits.

Essential Job Functions

Fundraising and Development

  • Process all donations
  • Manage fundraising database (Salesforce) and enter all donations into database
  • Interact with sponsors, donors, and staff regarding financial transaction forms, processing donations, time sheets and HR management
  • Prepare and send out donor acknowledgement and thank yous
  • Provide back-end support to program team in implementing membership program
  • Coordinate semiannual member survey
  • Complete simple grant reporting and grant application development

Office Management

  • Ensure a neat and orderly working environment\
  • Maintain office filing and storage systems
  • Manage and troubleshoot technology systems
  • Work with office vendors and contractors
  • Perform errands: post office, printers, Office Depot, etc.

Finance

  • Work with our fiscal sponsor to coordinate basic bookkeeping duties (paying bills, coding expenses and deposits, making entries to QuickBooks), depositing checks and collecting receipts
  • Run income and expense reports on a regular basis, as needed by directors

Staff Assistance

  • Answer phones and direct incoming calls
  • Assist executive director with scheduling as needed
  • Be a full participant on our team—participate in decision making, engage in conversation around social justice issues, and engage in ongoing professional development

Perform other tasks as identified by the executive director

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to use and create administrative and financial tracking systems to effectively coordinate tasks and organize information
  • Administrative and executive support experience in a nonprofit setting
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to pay close and accurate attention to details
  • Competency multitasking and managing numerous projects at any given time
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Apps and databases (Salesforce a plus)
  • Ability to provide basic technology management and troubleshooting
  • Experience providing welcoming and timely service to members or constituents
  • Basic grant reporting experience
  • Ability to work in a team setting on a variety of tasks
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice issues
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Sense of humor

Desired

  • Fundraising experience, including supporting or managing a seasonal appeal
  • Experience with bookkeeping, including reimbursements, contracts and billing
  • Experience working at small, organizing-centered nonprofits
  • Experience in the field of philanthropy
  • Ability to make a 2-3 year commitment to this role
  • Event planning experience
  • Experience with Resource Generation members and/or community
