[BOSTON, October 7, 2020] — TSNE MissionWorks (TSNE), a $50 million organization that provides fiscal sponsorship and shared operational services, management consulting, and capacity building support to other nonprofits, is proud to name Katie Roy as its new General Counsel.
Katie comes to TSNE from the School and State Finance Project, a nonpartisan, nonprofit policy organization in Connecticut focused on education funding and state finance issues with a commitment to providing independent analysis, building public knowledge, improving transparency, and developing fair, sustainable solutions. Katie founded the School and State Finance Project and served as executive director since 2015, where she grew the organization from three staff with a budget of $500,000 to a 13-person staff and budget of $2 million.
“We are thrilled to welcome Katie to TSNE,” says CEO Elaine Ng. “Her career reflects a desire to ensure a more democratic society for us all, which is a key tenet of TSNE’s mission. As the leader of a fiscally sponsored organization, Katie has a unique perspective on the needs of our clients and we look forward to adding her experience to our team.”
A graduate of the University of Connecticut’s School of Law, Katie is an active member of the Bar Association in Massachusetts. She has also previously worked as the Chief Operating Officer of the Connecticut Council for Education Reform, and the Interim Chief Financial Officer for Hartford Public Schools.
“It has been a privilege to work with TSNE’s dedicated staff over the past five years while leading a fiscally sponsored organization, and I am excited to continue being a part of the TSNE family,” Katie said. “I’m looking forward to serving as General Counsel and being a thoughtful, efficient, and proactive resource for TSNE’s clients and their legal and regulatory needs.”
