Commonwealth Seminar The Commonwealth Seminar (MassCS) exists to open the doors of the State House to diverse leaders. They fulfill that mission by providing legislative training, networking opportunities with top policymakers and access to public service job opportunities for diverse leaders in Massachusetts.
Community Boat Building Community Boat Building brings real world experiences and academic skills together to excite students about learning. We offer a year-round schedule of experiential learning opportunities, from learning how to chart a course, to an oral history of descendants of African Americans who were involved in the maritime industry, to building a boat.
Community Votes Community Votes partners with community-based social service organizations to conduct nonpartisan voter mobilization so more underrepresented citizens participate in our democracy. Their approach is practical, grassroots and cost-effective. Many community-based service organizations work directly with citizens who traditionally don’t exercise their right to vote and are uniquely positioned to reach into some of the city’s poorest communities to turn more citizens into voters.

Design Studio for Social Intervention DS4SI is dedicated to changing how social change is imagined, developed and deployed here in the United States. We are creating a design studio for the progressive arm of the nonprofit sector in order to support the sector’s ability to create new forms of effective social intervention and the exploration of new ways to be interventionists.

Farm to Institution New England FINE is a six-state network of nonprofit, public and private entities working collaboratively to strengthen our food system by increasing the amount of New England-grown and processed food served in our region’s schools, hospitals, colleges and other institutions. Financial Transparency Coalition The Financial Transparency Coalition (FTC) is a global network of civil society, governments, and experts. They work to curtail illicit financial flows through the promotion of a transparent, accountable, and sustainable financial system that works for everyone.
First Teacher First Teacher is a movement of parents helping parents prepare their children for success in kindergarten and beyond. First Teacher is a hands-on neighborhood initiative for parents and caregivers based on the idea that if knowledge, information, and effective strategies are made accessible through a non-judgmental, collaborative approach, parenting practices will improve dramatically, thereby directly supporting toddlers’ school readiness prospects. The long-term goal of First Teacher is that children enter K1 at or above grade-level in literacy skills and general school readiness.
